A reader dissents over my latest column:
You do your argument, and your readers, a disservice with selective examples and omissions. The “tree” example is an artist being weird. The shop teacher is obviously an exception. Your critique of the WPATH’s standards of care skips over pages of recommendations for caution, and you jump to eunuchs. Lazy.
The example of “tree” is not a lone artist being weird. Yes, there were more calls for caution in these new guidelines. But also no recommended age minimums for blockers, hormones and surgery. They are beginning to worry about future lawsuits and wanted to avoid putting edgy sex change doctors at risk.
