Our super-champ in Rome, Giuseppe, has caught on to an “unwritten rule of the Contest”:

After you post a very tough view, a very easy one almost always follows. (I am sure nobody was fooled by the Bhutanese architecture.)

Indeed, 64 of you answered the right city this week — and none of you guessed Bhutan. A Mexico guesser:

So, seeing the image in low-res black and white on my Kindle immediately made me think of the Potala palace in Lhasa, Tibet — but checking on my computer screen quickly disavowed that notion. The cars, roads and architecture immediately remind me of the western desert of North America. And the houses built into the hillside, so common in much of Latin America, make me think it’s Mexico. Unfortunately I don’t have time to do a deep dive and start a process of elimination, but I’ll take a stab in the dark: Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

Another reader points to the right country:

Well, with this VFYW, a newbie like me should be able to guess it. There are so many clues.
