When you started to discuss the lack of advancement in sections of the Black American community and postulated slavery as a reason I could only think of Thomas Sowell who has written extensively on this subject. The fact that most black families during the Jim Crow era were intact 2 parent families but since the implementation of President Johnson’s Great Society the black family has fallen apart led Sowell to consider something other than a history of slavery was to blame.
